About Waxing

Due to Covid-19, we no longer trim any body part including the Brazilian area.
The hair must be at least 1/4 inch length or a guard of a 2 if using trimmers.

It important to understand that wax not only removes hair but also nourishes the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and silky. I use only the best wax that enhances the quality of the procedure to the fullest. Waxing is a great long-lasting solution to the problem of unwanted hair.
We specialize in Brazilian, Bikini, and Full Body Waxing for men and women.

A solution for hair removal that will ensure a softer, slower, and lighter growth for weeks at a time.

We Wax That! Spa provides a high quality waxing service for all your waxing needs.

There are 10 different types of wax that I use from around the world. I determine the type of wax that is used based on your skin and hair type. A soft and hard wax will be applied, that will leave your skin smooth and with the least amount of irritation.

If you are concerned about the pain that is associated with waxing, well it is not as bad as many people believe it to be and as you do more waxing treatments the pain drops down as your skin becomes use to the treatment.

Three stages of hair growth

Three stages of hair growth

Hair grows in 3 stages and it can take up to 4 waxing treatments before all of the hair is on the same growth cycle. Your first wax may not remove all the hair, it may last only one week, it may last up to three – it just depends on your own genetics, how recently and often you’ve shaved. Don’t be discouraged if your hair doesn’t stay gone too long the first few times. The more you wax the longer it will last. However, if your last hair removal was shaving, your first wax post shaving will not last as long. Please don’t shave in between waxing appointments!
Ingrown hairs after waxing

What is an ingrown hair?

An ingrown hair is a hair that does not emerge from the follicle but remains embedded in the skin, usually causing inflammation. If left untreated, ingrown hairs can result in pain, itching, tenderness and in some cases, infection and permanent scarring.

What causes an ingrown hair?

Ingrown hairs can occur after hair removal when dead skin cells accumulate and form a papule as the skin heals. Hair growing in the area gets trapped under the papule and is prevented from exiting the skin, creating an ingrown hair. Irritating and unsightly ingrown hairs can occur on any part of the body.

Waxing History & Origins

Waxing History & Origins

Hair removal, including Brazilian Waxing is for hygienic purposes . In Middle Eastern societies, removal of body hair has been considered proper hygiene, necessitated by local customs, for many centuries.

Evidence of total body hair removal in ancient India dates back to 4000 to 3000 BC and whilst Europeans have been generally accepting of body hair, there was a period in the Middle Ages when Crusaders returning from the Middle East made hairless chic.

The West has taken a little longer to catch up. The removal of body hair by Western women became more common when bathing suits came about, starting in the 1940’s.

It is commonly agreed that full body hair removal originated in Middle Eastern countries. It is thought to have come about as a response to lice, fleas other parasites and body odor that can be prevalent in a hot climate. It later became a religious ritual to promote cleanliness and purification. Both men and women subscribed to full body hair removal and adhered to the expectation that hair should be removed at least every 40 days. All this time later we still recommend waxing every 4 to 8 weeks!
